Within days the Agom Adara, Maiwada Galadima, was abducted on the road and later killed. Kidnappings and village raids in Kajuru and Kachia have continued since, and they now decide which roads people travel and which fields get planted.
Daily life still follows the farming calendar: yams, maize, sorghum and, around Kachia, ginger, a cash crop that southern Kaduna sends to markets across Nigeria. The Adara are still mostly rural, but more of them now live and work in Kaduna city and beyond, staying tied to home through family and church.
