About Klamath People
The Klamath are a lake and marsh people. The land did not. Since then the Klamath Tribes, headquartered in Chiloquin, have fought the basin's water wars from the top of the watershed, holding time-immemorial water rights confirmed in 2013 and backing the Klamath River dam removals finished in 2024. A smaller number of Klamath descendants are enrolled at the Quartz Valley Indian Community in Siskiyou County, California.
