Easter is the high point of the Kwahu year. Migrants from Accra, Kumasi and abroad pour back onto the plateau in such numbers that the holiday has become one of Ghana's largest gatherings. It is part family reunion, part street party and part business meeting, with a paragliding festival that launches pilots off the ridge at Atibie. For a few days, the big hometown houses that Kwahu families build and leave empty most of the year fill up again.
