About Dzungars People
The Dzungars were a historical people: a confederation of Oirat Mongol tribes who built the last great nomadic empire of Inner Asia, ruling from the 1630s until Qing armies destroyed them in the 1750s. Today the Ööld of Xinjiang and Mongolia are the nearest thing to Dzungar descendants, and Oirats in Xinjiang still print in the Clear Script.
