About Kendayan People
Ask a Dayak from the hills inland from Pontianak who they are, and many will say Kanayatn. Outsiders long wrote the name as Kendayan. They are one of the largest Dayak peoples of West Kalimantan, living mainly in Landak, Bengkayang, Mempawah and Kubu Raya. A smaller community of Selako speakers lives across the border around Lundu in Sarawak. Their language puts them in an interesting spot.
