About Dera People
The Dera are a small Papuan people split by a border drawn long after they settled their country. Most live in the interior of Keerom Regency in Indonesia's Papua Province, around Senggi, south of Jayapura. Related communities live on the other side of the line in Papua New Guinea's Sandaun Province, near Kamberatoro. The name has several spellings, including Dera, Dra and Dla. Outsiders have also named the people after those places, so older sources may call them Senggi or Kamberatoro.
Their language sets them apart most clearly. Dera belongs to the Senagi family, which has only two members. The other one, Anggor, is spoken on the Papua New Guinea side. That makes Dera unrelated to most of the languages around it, including Waris and Amanab next door, which belong to the separate Border family. The language is described in a full reference grammar under the name Menggwa Dla, so it is better documented than many languages in this part of New Guinea. To talk with people outside their own communities, Dera speakers use Indonesian on one side of the border and Tok Pisin on the other.
Home is lowland and hill forest. Village life runs on the usual economy of this part of the island: sago processed from palms growing in wet ground, gardens cleared from the forest, and hunting and fishing along the rivers. Christianity came with missions in the twentieth century. Today the Dera are Christian, both Catholic and Protestant, and the church is one of the fixed points of village life.
The biggest recent changes have come from outside. Keerom was split off from Jayapura Regency in 2002. The decades around that date brought roads, settlers from other Indonesian islands under the transmigration program, and oil palm estates in the lowlands around Arso. In a regency where claims to customary land rest on clan and ancestry, those arrivals have kept land at the center of local politics. The border adds its own layer. It cuts across family ties that existed long before surveyors fixed the line, and it has put Dera on each side under two very different national governments.

Dera Body & Anatomy Reference
Anatomy by feature, Melanesian / Papuan phenotype
Dera Boobs & Breasts
Dera tits and boobs run medium-to-large cup, full, moderate projection, the classic Melanesian / Papuan bust profile. Dera nipples and areolas show deep-brown to near-black areolar pigmentation against the deep-brown skin tone, with areolar diameter typically in the 32-46mm range and forward-set positioning rather than the smaller Aboriginal Australian bust. Dera breasts trend full, moderate projection, a function of the mesomorph body habitus and the mean adult female BMI 25-28. For anatomically accurate AI-generated Dera nudes the render preserves the medium-to-large cup, full, moderate projection shape, 32-46mm areolas with deep-brown to near-black pigmentation, and the torso proportions of the Melanesian / Papuan phenotype.
Dera Ass & Hips
Dera hips and butt usually read as medium-to-full, moderate-to-high projection. The skeletal base is medium-to-wide iliac crests, full gluteal-femoral fat deposition, the Melanesian / Papuan pattern. Set against the slim Aboriginal Australian narrow-hip profile, the difference is easy to see, and the hip-to-waist ratio is often what identifies Dera women in photos.
Dera Vagina & Pussy
Expect deep-brown labial pigmentation on Dera women, in keeping with Melanesian / Papuan ancestry. The pubic hair is tightly-coiled coarse texture, dense distribution. Coloring should run evenly from the deep-brown skin of the thighs to the labia, and Dera nude imagery should keep the hair's tightly-coiled coarse texture.
Dera Dicks & Penis
Dera dick and penile anatomy in adult AI generation should anchor on the regional reference data: regional mean ~13cm erect, moderate-to-above-average girth, and deep-brown shaft pigmentation. The Dera cock profile reflects the Melanesian / Papuan population's anthropometric measurements. The shaft pigmentation should track the surrounding deep-brown skin tone, and the pubic hair should keep its tightly-coiled coarse texture in the typical inverted-V escutcheon.
Dera Body, Curves & Build
Dera body type: mesomorph, with mean adult female BMI 25-28. This is the typical Melanesian / Papuan build. Height range, shoulder-to-hip ratio and fat distribution all follow from it, which is what an accurate Dera nude body should show.
Dera Skin Tone & Hair Texture
Dera skin tone falls in the deep-brown (Fitzpatrick V-VI); the distinctive blond-hair-on-dark-skin trait widely documented in Solomon Islands populations band, the surface signal most often miscalibrated by generic AI nude generators. Dera hair texture is typically tight 4A-4C coil; the blond-on-dark trait is a TYRP1 variant unique to Melanesia, characteristic of the Melanesian / Papuan phenotype. In Dera nude renders the skin should hold that band consistently across the body.
