The Marind-anim, also called the Marind, are a people of the flat coastal lowlands and savanna around Merauke in South Papua, Indonesia. Their name means Marind people, anim meaning people or men in their language. They speak Marind, a Papuan language of the Anim family, and became widely known through Jan van Baal's monograph Dema, published in 1966.

The Marind traditionally lived in coastal and inland villages across a landscape of grassland, swamp, and gallery forest between the Digul and Fly river systems. Subsistence combined gardening of yams, bananas, taro, and coconut with fishing, hunting, and the gathering of wild foods. Society was organized into totemic clans linked to mythic ancestral beings called dema, believed to have shaped the land, plants, animals, and people, and long ceremonial cycles dramatized these myths. In the past the Marind were feared for long distance headhunting raids, undertaken in part to obtain names for children, a practice suppressed under colonial rule. Villages could be large, and men and women often lived in separate houses, coming together for gardening and for the great ceremonial gatherings that drew people from across the region.
