Their homeland is the forested headwaters of the Trombetas river system in Pará state, near where Brazil meets Suriname and Guyana. The Sikiana language belongs to the same family as all of theirs. In 2018 Brazil declared the Kaxuyana-Tunayana Indigenous Territory, which several peoples share, the Sikiana among them.
