The Chinese-Puerto Rican community is the largest, descending from late-19th and 20th c. Cantonese immigration concentrated initially in Mayagüez and Ponce, plus 21st c. mainland Chinese immigration. Smaller Japanese-Puerto Rican, Korean-Puerto Rican, Filipino-Puerto Rican, and South Asian-Puerto Rican populations exist throughout the island. Concentrated in the major metropolitan areas (San Juan, Bayamón, Carolina, Mayagüez, Ponce).
